Our niche has become the nonprofit world in the last few years. We are a marketing agency, yes, but we are much more than that to our clients. We have become consultants or counselors almost, especially when it comes to donor engagement.
My Creative Director, Nicole, and I had a very interesting chat today about what it takes to get hired at a marketing or creative agency. The discussion came up because Nicole is reviewing senior portfolios this week. These seniors are aspiring to get jobs in creative advertising this spring.
I started a bucket list in high school – you know, things you want to accomplish before you kick the bucket. I’ve been blessed to cross some things off of it, such as skydiving and cruising. Others I have yet to complete such as traveling to Iceland, seeing the Northern Lights or learning to drive a stick shift. In this last month, I crossed another item off. Any guesses?
