“Buy whatever you want.” I looked up at my dad and wondered why he would make such a generous offer? With a disabled wife and seven children to care for, my dad never had extra money to spend. As we walked out of the store with art supplies and How to Draw books in hand, I didn’t even realize the full implications of what my father had done. He had opened the world of art to me and from that day on it was mine. It is in gratitude to my father and many others who believed in me that I dedicate Scott Allen Creative to investing in those who have a dream worth believing in.

I like to think of myself as the left-brained individual that brings balance to the right-brained world I work in. Some of my favorite clients are nonprofits. Their work is always guided by a fiery passion that’s hard to find anywhere else. I get so excited when I can channel their passions and make them my own. Other things that excite me? My family. Finding the perfect Petoskey stone. Cherry coke – it’s a problem.

I am a Michigan Native, born on the east side but currently living the west side life. I arrived in GR to study Art and Design at Grand Valley State, and never wanted to leave this awesome city. I’m a people-person at heart, and nothing brings me more joy than using my creative talents to bring someone’s passion to life. What else gives me joy? Going for hikes with my family and Newfoundland, ice cream sandwiches, and playing Legend of Zelda in slipper socks.
Communication & Project Manager
As a New York native, I often get asked if I am from NYC. While I have visited a couple of times, I grew up in a small town in the finger lakes region. What brought me to Michigan you might ask? When I met my husband online in 2015, I made the move, and Grand Rapids became my home too. Together we have two silly little boys who bring us so much joy, and two dogs, Paislee & Winnie.

I’m a digital artist with a passion for bringing engaging concepts to life. I’m fueled by a desire to bring good into the world (and a whole lot of caffeine) and I believe that it starts with our local communities. I studied Digital Art and Design at Kendall College of Art and Design here in Grand Rapids and I’ve been working in the city ever since! Outside of my art I’m a big fan of eating delicious food, scuba diving, and hanging out with my rabbit Niko.

Before discovering his love for video production, Joel had a variety of fun jobs such as working as a postman, a barista at the original Starbucks, and even helping build a treehouse with the “Treehouse Masters”. When he’s not behind a camera, he’s at home building more bunkbeds to ensure all five of his kids have a place to sleep.
Finance Manager
As Finance Manager at Scott Allen Creative, I handle the numbers so our creative team can focus on what they do best. I grew up on a farm in South Dakota, but I’ve been happy to call Grand Rapids my home for the past 25 years. In addition to loving data and a well-organized spreadsheet, I enjoy good books, baking projects, and life with my husband, four girls, and two cats.
Phoenix Partner – Cinematographer
