lynn van dyken

senior graphic designer

I am a Michigan Native, born on the east side but currently living the west side life. I arrived in GR to study Art and Design at Grand Valley State, and never wanted to leave this awesome city. I’m a people-person at heart, and nothing brings me more joy than using my creative talents to bring someone’s passion to life. What else gives me joy? Going for hikes with my family and Newfoundland, ice cream sandwiches, and playing Legend of Zelda in slipper socks.

What would be your last meal?

A tasting course from Osteria Francescana. One of my life goals is to travel to Italy and visit this restaurant.

What’s the best prank you’ve ever pulled on someone?

I can’t take full credit for this, but once a coworker and I hid the key to another coworker’s desk in a little nook inside of his chair and left him written clues that required him to search his entire workspace to find the key. It took the guy about 20 minutes to find it, and it was fantastic to watch.

What is something your hometown is famous for?

My hometown had the summer home for the family that invented Vernors–the ginger ale drink that also serves as medicine for the entire midwest. The lodge burned down in the 1950s, but you can still find the stone foundation if you’re up for a small hike.
